There is a salvage/recycling yard in Alexander City right across the street from Home Depot. I can't remember the name of it, but if you call the city waste department they can likely give you the name and phone number.
I can tell you this from experience.....don't expect the waste department nor the recycling folks to be very helpful nor ccustomer friendly. There is a reason there are fridges floating all over the lake and it isn't just lazyness....the folks that should help are asleep at the wheel.
Also the recycling center will ask that the refridgerant has been removed. No idea how someone is supposed to do that in an environmental method......
