We also have a solo stove (Bonfire) and used it while trying to figure out where to put our firepit. I also had them make the firepit large enogh so that the solo stove could fit inside for those summer months when a fire is nice, but you dont want a raging inferno. Solo stoves are nice, and virtually smoke free - But you can get a firepit to be very smokeless as well with a nice hot fire and a good bed of coals and dry seasoned wood.
