Two years ago we were stranded in the middle of the water. Didn't have a clue what was wrong with the boat. Young guys in a small boat hauled us in to the marina. We were hot and frustrated so we may not have seemed grateful but we were and gave them a sincere thanks. Our parting words were "if you're ever stranded, hope we can do the same for you". A few months later we were coming by the rock late in the evening. Only one boat in sight and the young guys were waving us down needing help. Yep, same boat that had hauled us. Their battery was dead so we loaned them our extra and told them where we live. Next morning our battery was sitting on the pier. I believe in the old saying, what goes around comes around. Most folks aren't going to except gas or beer (unless they are thirsty at the time). But after you have been hauled in, you'll always stop to help someone else out after that.
