Agree with you Doc. Actually Cal outplayed USC and it is rediculous that Texas leap-frogged them. It is also rediculous that teams are rated based on last years performance. And yes,although I believe Utah would get slaughtered by the top 5, they did everything asked of them and at least deserve that shot. It also seems odd that all other football college divisions decide their champions with playoffs without adversely affecting the student athlete, even the Ivy league, yet we're stuck with this BCS/ BS.
