You have just hit on a HUGE problem all over the lake. Most of the condos have fixed docks and need at least 487 to comfortably dock and board their boats. Below that there is either no water or you need a parachute to jump into the boat. I have always given prospective buyers here the advice to buy in the winter when you can see the water line at its low point. For this summer, I would suspend that advice and say go ahead and check it out with these levels. When we hit 483 by the 4th of July, I predict 65% of the docks on this lake will be worthless.

I have been prediciting this since early March and was "hazed" for the "dire" predicitions. I have seen droughts on this lake but this lake has grown unbelievably since the last one and most of that develpoment has been done on lots that need higher water levels. I hate to say this but the beach market was killed by hurricanes...water levels and now pollution will be our demise if we do not do two things ASAP. Number one we MUST insist that Dadeville fix the sewer problems. Number two we must insist that winter water levels be at least 485 or we will have this issue 2 out of 5 years in the future...sobering but true!
