Sorry for the quick trigger...

I wanted to formally announce that I have found the peace so many have been preaching regarding the water levels. Obviously I have been looking at this thing as the glass is 1/2 empty and I apologize. I now realize a lake 1/2 empty is probably a disguised blessing. Obviously this has happened before and is cyclical, we all remeber the last time we had below winter pool on the 4th don't we? Don't we? I mean with the normal weather patterns and stable management by APCO it is obvious that we have all lived this before, you know that year when we had 475 in August...it wasn't all that bad. I mean the kids got a chance to rappel down to the water and they sure did love that muddy water didn't they? And who really needs to use their boats anyway? This will teach those business that have opened to serve the Lake crowd a great lesson in money management too...and don't we all need that?

Yep, I am fired up now! What with the Dadeville city government looking after our water we will be in great shape in no time at all regarding this pollution stuff too...Oh, and did I mention the beauty that is the muddy shoreline exposed for our viewing pleasure as the lake recedes...gosh I sure am thankful for the opportunity to see that this summer.

I am especially thankful for our newest lake residents. What joy this must be for them and I know they are thankful that they found this site and all of the sunshine pumpers here to set them straight that this happens all the time on this lake and it will pass and soon. I mean just remember how quickly we recovered from that last 100 year drought...you know 2000, 1988, 1986 etc...all those years when we stood on the shore to watch the fireworks...you remember don't you?

Now for a REALITY check people. This has NEVER HAPPENED DUE TO A DROUGHT OR LACK OF WATER! Sure we have had 485 or so for a LOW point in the summer but not lower. In the past as mentioned in the Lake Martin book it was Dam repairs that were to blame for drastic drops and even that was more than 40 years ago or longer. So, while you may be enjoying this great turn of events and while the kids might be enjoying the sandy beaches and muddy water, please do not berate those of us who think this sucks! Enjoy the lake my fellow LM friends...
