We have very competent welders do repair work at our facility.....stainless, regular steel, nuclear certified, etc. but when I have talked to them about pontoon boat repairs (on the tubes) they all take a deep breath. So make sure whomever you use is certified for light gauge aluminum welding. Those tubes are REALLY thin. They just seem thick because they are rolled.
