Nightcrawlers has always been a good bait for me. I usually drift fish for channel cats and squealers on long sandy points or humps. Main river (wind creek back down to youngs island area) channel will produce more and larger fish. If you can find a place where there are a lot of mussels you should have luck because catfish feed on the mussels.
