For those interested in trying out Carp fishing after reading Deborah's Fishing post, here is one more method to try...

The night before you fish, toss a couple cans of kernal corn out under your favorite dock light. Not the metal of course just the corn itself. This will pull in the carp to feed on the corn. Then the next morning, as the sun comes up, throw another can of corn down. Now for actually catching them. Take a medium sized circle hook(or really anyhook), and thread on as many kernals of corn that it will hold. Toss it out near your baited area. Set your reel to free-line, with your bait clicker on. This will allow the carp to pick up the bait and carry it off, without feeling any resistance. Then when you see/hear the line running, just start reeling and hang on!
Bobbers should not be needed. Weight would only be needed if its windy or you struggle to cast far enough. If you do use them, then use a threaded bullet weight that can slide up and down the line, so again the fish won't feel the resistance.

This has produced well for me on other lakes, and I'm sure will work on Martin as well.
