-You are right that the left needs the votes of the different "underprivileged" groups to get elected. But that's a different issue from what we were discussing above.
-We were discussing if chaos of the type that has occured in Zimbavwe could happen in the US, --the result of totally unprepared minorites taken over and running the government.
-If the true socialists (the czar brain trust) gets control, and the government becomes truely socialist, it is the socialst elite who will control the country from the center (DC and State houses) and the mini-elites will contol in the suburbs and the gansters will control in the urban areas, --all pretty much like it is now. However, what will change is teh implementation of central control of the economy which historically has meant death to effective, expanding, innovative businesses.
-So yes, teh leftist depend on teh underprivilged to vote them into office, but once in the underprivileged remain basicly out of the "ruling business" except in urban areas, pretty much as it is now.
-Now it is also true that the right also depends on its constituencies to get its leaders into power. Some of those constituencies are also uneducated, uninformed, and unprepared.
