I reaad the following from a meeeting of Decocratic women. Note the comparisons of the mascots of the two major parties.

Being a Democratic function, neither speaker wasted time getting jabs in at their GOP opponents.

“I spent the whole day (Thursday) afternoon researching donkeys and elephants,” joked one speaker, referencing the Democratic and Republican mascots. “Elephants have to be bathed and petted and pampered or else they get sick. I found it interesting that the animals who get diseases so easily would be opposed to health care reform. Donkeys, on the other hand, can thrive in the most difficult climates. They can make it and will make it.”

Another speaker's address took a distinctly less lighthearted tone.

“Elephants don’t have a good memory. “(Republicans) have forgotten that they’re the ones who got us where we are today and now they want another shot. Eight years ago people were throwing rocks at the state capital. Eight years later, after the Governor has done so much to straighten things out, they want another shot to screw things up again.”
