-I don't believe he ever had his front to the middle class.
-Obama has been and is a community organizer. Now his community is just bigger.
-For the most part he is doing exactly what he said he would do during the election --on healthcare, on national security, on international relations, etc. Even hearing all that, middle-of-teh-road political people voted for him anyway---because of the economy. The republicans primarily have themselves to blame for that sorry economic situation that gave Obama the votes he needed.
-He had two big lies during the election, --one, he loves the same America that most of us love, and two, his polices would not hurt middle-class America.
-Depending on how you define middle-class America, he does not really care about the support of American families making above the $150,ooo mark , give or take 10K or so.
-What politics is all about now is numbers. Numbers that can be brought into the dem party.
-The guestimate is that 47/48% of American don't pay taxes. What that means is that almost 50% of Americans depend on the government, but don't pay for the government. When that number goes over 50% you have a voting culture that is government-dependent, so the vote for entitlement providers (whether dem or repub or indepedent)will dominate the election process. that means no matter who is elected over the next several decades, the free market economy system will continue to deteriorate. with dems it will just be faster than with repubs.
-Based on my reading of his books, his history (what we know of it), and his electioneering, this support of teh entitlement seekers has always been Obama's plan.
-The repubs have to find a way to appeal to larger numbers of minorities. Soon the minoriteis will be the majority. The dems are the party of the minorities. Their numbers contnue to increase. Present Washington policies and programs are meant to continue increaasing those numbers. Between now and 2012, it's all about numbers.
