Being involved in this to some degree I can tell you that the federal government has been nothing but an impediment. The best thing they could do is clear away the bureaucracy so the states and private entities can act. It took us two weeks to get approval from the USCG to go out and collect samples. It took the USACOE 6 weeks to approve the temporary berm idea which was too late as the oil reached the marshes while they dithered. Now BP will likely and legitimately mount a defense that if the Corps had approved the dikes sooner the damage would not have occurred. I am sympathetic to their argument.

The fact is Obama is helpless, clueless and thoroughly incompetent. He doesn't know what to do and is taking his advice from the likes of Spike Lee who urged him to kick some a--. Within a week he is talking just like the film director urged him to talk. How comforting to know our CIC takes his leadership advice from a guy that makes movies. And even less comforting is his man-child belief that talking trash is leadership.

He was not qualified for the job and the government media was AWOL in exposing his incompetence. His only successes in his entire life is the ability to convince people to for him because he is an unusually good liar. Beyond that he has no legislative or executive experience or successes. He is exactly what I and many other conservatives said he would be but voters took a hope on change and all we get is hopeless and change for the worse.
