In 2007, the last year's budget before Dems took over Congress, the total annual deficit was $161 billion. Last month alone it was $233 billion. So our monthly deficits are now significantly higher than our annual deficits under Bush and the profligate GOP who controlled both houses of Congress.

I think we can safely dispense with two old wives tales:

1. Democrats and Republicans are all the same when it comes to spending
2. That all the caterwauling by leftists about the deficits during the Bush years actually meant they care about our debt
