But in its totality it is generally true for many people interested in politics and not just conservatives. Look at the left's reaction to the Citizens United ruling which the left absolutely hated and even TOTUS himself attacked the Supreme Court during his state of the union show. So this is an equal opportunity problem in politics and is not only nothing new but decidedly mild when compared to our history.

It seems to me that conservative reaction has been all over the board but of course overwhelmingly negative just like the left wing nuts and government media would have been had the decision gone the other way. You have pundits like George Will and Charles Krauthammer praising Roberts so-called cleverness. But most object to the fact that Obamacare was never presented as a tax, the word tax is not in the bill and the President argued strenuously with George Stephonapolis that it was not a tax and yet Roberts decided it was. As Justice Kennedy said, to argue it "is not" a tax so the law can be judged before it actually impacts someone (the injunction clause) and then to argue it "is" a tax for purposes of consitutionality is pure sophistry......and it is.

As for me, I take this ruling as a mixed blessing. SCOTUS did seem to put some limits on the use of the commerce clause as the be all and end all for federal government expansionism albeit probably with limited application as a precedent (hence the Ginsburg dissent). They also said the federal government can't withhold funds from states that refuse to expand Medicade (even though we know Oblamer picks and chooses which laws to obey). And finally, it is going to galvanize fiscally responsible people all across the country to oppose his reelection. The Messiah is now in the unenviable position of having to defend a very unpopular law that now also represents the largest tax increase in American, and possibly, world history. And for all this a majority of Americans still want the law repealed and replaced. The question is whether they will vote to make that happen. A good sign was Romney raised $4 million on the day of the decision. I sent him $2,500 and have convinced many others to likewise send him money.

Oh and another advantage of this being a tax. Obamacare is no longer fiscally neutral and is a tax and therefore may only require a simple majority in the Senate to be repealed. Give the GOP control over the Senate and the WH and this repugnant law can be sent to the dustbin of history where it belongs. If not, the GF gets his wish and over 150,000 Americans will die each year unnecessarily as a result of rationing. That's more than three times and probably higher than supposedly die unnecessarily for lack of insurance.
