Okay, so I googled it and this is what I found. Trump wants to reduce funding to CHIPS by $7B over 2 years, as well as cuts to Medicaid. This is his proposal for the 2019 and 2020 budget years. But let's remember, what is proposed and what actually gets done are two completely different things. People proposed all kinds of things for the budget, but what comes out at the end is completely different. My take on this is that Trump is proposing these cuts, knowing that they will be unpalatable to Democrats and a lot of Republicans, because he wants the money for his wall. I suspect he is hoping by proposing cuts to these programs, will lead to additional compromises on wall funding. Because at the end of the day, no one is going to cut funds for children's health.
