First of all, ICMR is simply an organization that formulates, coordinates and promotes biomedical research in India. It has no regulatory authority. Secondly, I have been all over their website and found no such declaration about Ivermectin. In fact every search I did on their main website and the one dedicated to COVID for Ivermectin came up with zero results. Nor has this story gotten any traction I suspect primarily because no one can confirm its accuracy......because it is likely fake news. I welcome anyone to point me to the actual document on the ICMR website as opposed to what someone at the agency allegedly said to some reporter.
And Indian states like Uttar Pradesh are still using Ivermectin as a prophylactic and early treatment, and very successfully I might add.
