I'm not surprised she is clueless.  In my opinion there are a ton of politicians that need to retire from both parties.  It tells you a lot about the nature of political office that so many hang on for so long.  Probably a combination of ego and greed as well as demonstrating the allure of power.  It also highlights just how easy this job is given that so many hang on for far longer than they can meaningfully add any value.  The power lies within their staff and they are mere figureheads.
