I don't believe I ever said he was looking to avoid debating Obama on foreign policy. My only question is he avoiding debating in case Lehrer decides to ask a question about it, which he can.

Or, did McCain see this as chance to gain back some ground by supporting his contention of being a "maverick" or a leader who recognizes an issues and meets it head on.

Pro- Obama people are going to read it one way, Pro-McCain are going to read it another.

IAgain, I am not pro-Obama by any stretch of the imaginatio. I am just not a fan of Obama and definately not a fan of Palin. I am simply trying to decide the lesser of two evils - and that might be McCain.

What I cannot stand is when people on this forum promote their own agenda will out and out lies about any of the candidates and then will not admit that they are lies when they are clearly pointed out as such.

I read something about a negative ad that Obama has about McCain and Bermuda tax breaks and it is misleading and not totally accurate, so I did nothing with it.

McCain has ads that are misleading as well - I realize it is politics as usual but people have to willing to be educated and to read to find out what is true (or as true as either of these can be) and what are just blatant lies.
