I would not be optimistic he would do the "right" thing. He has not demostrated that in the past, so why would he change. I am sure he and Michelle, as well as the liberal media would cry foul and join with Rev Wright that america is a racist nation (The US of K K K).

The hope I would hold out there is voter turn out has normally been in the 30% range. From what I am hearing on the news is that the early voting is running much higher than expected and voter turn out could surpass 50% for the first time in a very long time.

Now this could work against McCain as well .... since I am hearing that blacks are turning out in high numbers so they can say the voted for the first black president. But then again, I still believe this country is more center/right and Obama is clearly far left, whicle McCain is much more where the country is on a whole. High voter turn out could very well work in McCains favor as people fear the reality of the shift Obama would create toward socialism.

Obama can spin that he is more center, but his voting record, speechs, and his past definitely say otherwise.

Just a FYI as it relates to the mass turn out ... I live in Atlanta during the week. All the early voting places have been running anywhere from a 2 to 4 hour wait. They just doubled the number of early polling places starting today and the wait is still running over 1 hour at all of them. Early votes cast so far (through yesterday) has been over 400,000. That is huge. Metro Atlanta population is 5.2 million ... even if you say 50% are voting age that is 2.6 million potential voters, that say as of yesterday 15% have already voted.
