I would agree he did the right thing to withdraw. He made it clear on CNBC that he was honored to be approached and "asked" to serve by Obama. He was troubled that Obama knew he was a conservative republican and would still ask ... and when it became clear that he would not be able to keep to his beliefs and "operate in the position consistent with his beliefs" he felt the right thing to do was withdraw and allow Obama to select someone more consistent with his thinking.

You can draw whatever conclusions you want to what he said ... but I take that as Obama and his administration just wanted him to be a yes man and go along with what they wanted. If that is the case then Obama should pick liberal democrats and stop this joke that he wants to unite and believes in being bipartisian. He clearly does not.

Gregg also stated that there is more money in the stimulus going to "the arts" than small businesses that can create jobs. Also that the priority is to the social spending programs that will not create jobs and the parts of the bill that are good, most do not go in to effect until 2010 and 2011.

Also the thinking like Maxine Waters lecturing a CEO of a bank on using credit cards is embarrassing for our country.
