Ben Stein is a smart guy and has it exactly right. What he fails to go into is the reason Obama is fear mongering and it all goes back to the Rahm comment about not wasting a good crisis. They are making liberal, big government, socialist hay while the sun shines under the guise of "stimulus". They recognize what we have learned from history that most radical transformations occur over a short period of time and never fully return to the previous status quo.

The fact is Obama doesn't give a rats behind about anything other than getting his liberal, socialist agenda implemented in the first two years while they still control Congress. Newt Gingrich made the point about how quickly things can change in control of Congress and I think the Messiah knows that he could lose a ton of seats in the mid-term elections that would stymie his agenda big time. He also is counting on the economy recovering sufficiently by 2012 when he is up for re-election and he will take credit. What they don't seem to understand is that by following FDR's prescription it is entirely possible that it will not recover (it never did under the New Deal). If so, you will see a lurch to the right ala Bill Clinton.

Also of interest is all these Obama guys that are now taking him to task (i.e., Jim Cramer, Warren Buffett, etc.). I love to see them wallowing in all their buyer's remorse and it is nearly impossible to feel sorry for them after their behavior during the campaign. Takes a lot of nerve for them to criticize the Messiah for exactly the same actions we told them he would take if elected.
