Through NO handouts ... job training, volunteer work, etc in order to get any governement subsidy. Clean parks, roads, etc. Make it time limited, offer classes they do on their owntime to qualify for better jobs.

I would even be in favor of programs that match dollars earned if they are investing their own effort to learn new skills.

Why is it I see Mexicans lined up at HD and Lowes all over Atlanta ready and willing to take any work they can get and you never see Americans? That is the difference in work ethic. They do not want a hand out ... they want to work and are willing to do anything to earn a buck.

When I need my yard cleaned up, pine straw spread, miscellaneous projects around the house that I am getting too old to do (or I just don't want to and use that excuse) then I ride over to HD and pick a couple of willing souls and they always do a great job. They are all wanting to get picked and don't even ask how much I will pay them. I am always fair and also buy them a good lunch.

As long as the government will give handouts for not working ... you will not get a work ethic like that. Believe me, I think we need more control of our boarders and would guess some or most of these are here illegally. But they are here because they are willing to work and know that americans are not and will live off the government or sit around and complain that the economy is bad.
