MM,
-I find that when I talk now with my democratic party senioir friends, they have turned against this health bill but not against the democratic party. That may change as this debate continues. Extreme liberals on the other hand remain impervious
-I have found the following arguments very persuasive among democratic party seniors:
--Why the Agust Rush?: why do the dem leaders now say that their new proposals are much better than the one (HR3200) that had to, ...just had to... be passed before the August recess? In other words, the dem leaders admit that HR 3200 was not a good bill and it would have been a big mistake to follow their leadership.
--Why the Non-Readers?: Why didn't teh dem congresssmen/women think enough of their constituents to read the bill before the August vote?...or especially why hadn't most of them still read teh bill before they went on August break and met with their constituenst? It was apparant to almost everyone that they hadn't read it.
--Why 2013? -If teh bill just had to be passed by August recess, ...or now has to be passed by December, why don't the changes go into effect until 2013, i.e. after the nect election? The answer is obvious.
--Why wait on Waste?: If waste in the system is $500 billion and can pay for a good new system, then why not just get rid of the fraud and waste right now. Then the system will be solvent. We must now what and where the waste is if we can put a dollar amount on it.
--Why not just fix the Insurance Companies?: vote regulations that ensure companies will not dump sick people; will convey coverage; accept preexisting illnesses; etc. This is the biggest healthcare problem, -people going broke to pay medical bills when insurance won't pay.
--No Rationing?: real world examples exist in countries with socialized medicine that show rationing is always the result, ...and most of teh rationing is done on senior citizens.
Public Option? What's that all about? look at the Barney Frank's clip below. The clip shows that what the dem leadership really thinks vs what they tell us; they are just liars and think we are just stupid.

-Seniors may be old but they are not stupid. Both democrats and republicans better begin to understand that
