Just noticed that the Great Blue Herons that were on an island down river have abandoned it and moved to one just off our point. Any idea what causes them to move? They sure create a racket at sunset--sort of like the old "clackers" we played with in the early 70s--what genius came up with that idea? Giving kids two very hard plastic balls on the end of a piece of nylon rope???
Anyway, I noticed several nests on the island...
