Figure this one for me....

3 men went to a store and bought $30 worth of goods. They split the purchase 3 ways...each paying $10...right?

The clerk realized that she overcharged them by $5. She asked the bagger to run after them to give them their change. Before catching up with them, but seeing there were 3 men, he kept 2 dollars for himself and then gave them the $3, which they divided among them for $1 each.

This means, then, that each man didn't pay $10, but only $9 each for their purchases. $10 - $1 = $9.

But $9 x's 3 = $27. Bagger kept $2 ($2 + $27 = $29.) WHY????????
