After reading the huge amount of post's on the Dadeville sewage plant, I had to respond. Make sure you look in your own back yards!!! If you own or have purchased one of those quaint cabins from the past you may be right along with Dadeville. How many of you checked out the systems and where that water goes? Do the Field lines meet the 50' from the lake rule? Is your septic tank a barrel? Does your washing machine just flow into the lake? This may sound like I am complaining, but I know for a fact that many of the folks around the lake do infact have these issues. When I built my house 5 years ago I was doing some dirt work and all of a sudden I saw soapy water flowing out of the ground on my property. The neighbor had buried a 4" line about 1 foot under the surface and ran it on to the vacant lot. My lot!!! Many of the older cabins suffer from this and If something ever goes wrong, you are in for some huge problems with the current rules. With the way some of these are placed so close to each other, folks may be in the market for an additional lot to put the new system they will be buying. I guess this goes along with the glass house analogy.
