I had the same problem last year. Here is how to catch them:

First find the burro hole. Then get a raccoon trap and set it up in front of the hole about 25' to 30' away. Get two boards (I used a 8' 2x6) and form a V from the hole leading to the mouth of the trap. Armadillos are like rats; they use the side of the boards (or walls in a rat’s case) and funnel themselves into the trap. I did not put food in the trap or anything. Just set it and waited.

After catching, a good 410 did the job. It is hard to get them out of the trap alive. So good luck.
