Alabama Power plans to temporarily lower Mitchell Lake by about 3 feet this fall for a period of about 2 weeks, 10/01 - 10/17. Residents interested in performing shoreline maintenance during this drawdown should apply for the necessary lakeshore-use permits now by calling the Alabama Power Lower Coosa Shoreline Management Office in Clanton at 205-755-4420 before beginning any construction along the shoreline.
