Two examples why less regulation is better. Both GE and Bank of America were recently fined.

GE agreed to pay $50 million to settle regulatory claims it manipulated earnings to meet analysts’ estimates. Naturally, they did not admit nor deny the accusations.

The Securities and Exchange Commission filed charges Monday against Bank of America for misleading investors about billions of dollars in bonuses paid to top executives at Merrill Lynch following its purchase of the brokerage giant. The SEC simultaneously announced that it would settle with the Charlotte, N.C. based lender, who will pay a penalty of $33 million as a result. Naturally, Bank of America neither admitted or denied the charge.

Why should the government be involved how business operates? If a business wants to cheat why is it the govenment’s business? If a Company wants to play with earnings to increase their stock price that will help executives with options why is it the government’s business? The stock price increases and more taxes are paid on the profit. Anyone who lost money on the false information is probably a Republican who wants less regulation, so, no big deal. It is finally starting to sink in. Less regulation is better. Slowly, I am coming around.
