I had to leave just ahead of the storms to drive to Charleston. How did we fare hail-wise?

As I was on the east side of Atlanta heading toward Augusta the radio station was airing information about tornado warnings, and 1 3/4 inch hail and a full ground stop at the airport. Surely glad I drove...

Something tells me that hail that big would not be a friend to an aircraft's skin.
