But thanks to the trial lawyers I am alive and well.

On my way to Charleston today, on I-26 near Orangeburg, SC, a car attempted to occupy the same space as I. In the process of avoiding a collision with the other car I lost control of my car and engaged the cable restraining system that separated the two opposing lanes of traffic. My seat belt held and the air bag deployed...and as a result of those three safety mechanisms I walked away from a totaled car without a scratch. OK, I have a half dollar sized red mark on my hand...WFD.

Not sure about the cable systems but the seat belts and air bags more than likely came from some attorney(s) filing lawsuits against the car companies. I applaud them because the combination of seat belts, air bags, and cable restraints probably saved my life today. My car is a total loss, because the cable restraints are very unforgiving and have a tendency to shred cars....but cars can be replaced.

So here's to the trial lawyers who made this possible.
