One step at a time. As the study pointed out the South's increase in GDP is accelerating. The average increase in the southern states was 6.6% versus California at a paltry 0.7%, although still very large but still way less than the southern states. In the PNW contribution to GDP is paltry in comparison to the southern states (around 19%) although their annual increase is comparable to southern states. Obviously comparing one state (CA) or two states (PNW) to five states is a tad unfair but the trend is not good for the NE or CA.
The point I was making, which is undeniable, is that the southern states included in the list are on the rise in comparison to the NE and CA. They are losing ground while the southern states are gaining and that trend is accelerating. I posited why I thought this was the case.
