We have stored our boat at Kowaliga Marina for several years now with mixed results. I do believe their service has improved, especially over the last year or so. However, during the first two years, there were multiple instances that caused us to reconsider using them for boat storage and service. In the past, we have noticed the "elitist" attitude to which another poster referred, from the standpoint that the larger, more expense boats (presumably purchased directly from Russell Marine) and their respective owners were sometimes given quicker/preferential service and treatment. However, I have noticed this attitude subside somewhat in recent years. The only recent issue I have had with them was that we were quoted one price on the phone to fix an issue with our boat, but were subsequently billed a materially higher amount than the original quote, with the reason being that the service took longer than budgeted.
We continue to use Kowaliga due to the geographically close proximity to our house, but would be curious to know if the issues that I mention above are prevalent at other marina’s around the lake.
