I just read this article on the home page. It set me thinking, and that is always dangerous. I googled the area of the United States. That came back at 3,537,441 square miles. Then having no memory for such things I Googled acres in a square mile. That came back at 640. So I multiplied 3,537,441 X 640 = 2,263,962,240. That is over 2.2 BILLION acres. Now very few folks live on whole acres any more so lets assume that we are going to give the entire population of Earth a 1/4 acre lot to build on. That would mean that we could create over 8.8 BILLION of these lots IN THE UNITED STATES ALONE. Now the population of Earth is considered to be 6.5 BILLION. Thats about 3/4 as many as we have lots. So even figuring out land that is underwater, the entire population of the Earth can have 1/4 acre lots, and they will ALL fit in the U.S. That leaves the REST of the Earth to supply the natural resources needed 'support' the population.

Now look at a globe. How is it the Earth is 'overpopulated'?

Simplistic, YES. But it illustrates a point very well. Mother Earth is in NO DANGER from man being given a ride on this big blue ball.
