You really need to do a good job of tying in addition to placing plenty of bouys. Where many people make a mistake is that they leave alot of room between the boats thinking that the additional space will make them less likely to hit one another. Truly you are much better off to tie the boats together very closesly. If the shape of the boats permit it, tie them where the boats are squeezed against the bumpers. When you leave too much space between the boats, wakes cause the boats to rock in such a way to miss the bumpers and hit one another instead. Tying the boats tightly together causes the boats to move together much better and keeps the bumpers where they should be--between the boats. Also, dont tie up right in the middle of the channel. The wake is much worse there. Get over in the little cove to the left of "The Rock". Tying up with other boats is great when you do it correctly, but could ruin your day and your summer if you dont tie properly or if you encounter an extrememly large wake. Two summers ago I saw a Nautique have its windshield shattered while tied up in a line of boats.
