What a small world! Hi, neighbor! Once the folks actually move into their new doublewide, I will try to address the dog situation with them. I like dogs and, occasionally, my children bring their two dogs to the lake, but they stay close to the house and us. There is now a fenced area on the lake side (and the side next to me) of the doublewide and some of the dogs are kept there. They bark loudly and ceaselessly. There was a man there last week, but we aren't sure if he just came to tend the dogs or what his purpose was. One of the dogs appears to be old and arthritic, but that didn't stop the fellow from yelling at him and squirting him with a hard jet of water from the hosepipe. The two dogs from the brick house have never been a problem, but there now appear to be at least six, between the two. 'Pack' is certainly the correct term (and evidenced by the muddy footprints all over our porch). Sure did make my early morning 'coffee on the porch quiet time' a distant dream...(although, sitting on my 50-year old 30 s.f. porch, I do envy their beautiful new home with it's big deck.....big sigh). Holler at us the next time we're there; you are a year 'rounder, right?
