I used to question the "need " for an expensive boat on LM too, whether 40' long or capable of 120 mph too. Then I thought about it - we live in the Birmingham/Tuscaloosa area, and can be at the cabin on Sandy Creek in about two hours, the coast is about a 5 hour trip. Besides the extra 6 hours a weekend that we can enjoy the lake, just think of all of the gas and car maintenance expenses we can avoid by going to Lake Martin - I would say THAT is common sense.
