I was fishing from shore the evening of 11/20 with a 5wt tossing rubber-legged poppers to rising fish. I got several bream in water I'd guess to be 4 foot or so. Nothing huge, but always entertaining. The excitment came with one nice bass cruzing the shallows. He struck in about 1.5 foot of water very near the shoreline.

I didn't see the strike as I was talking with my 6 yr old, but I sure heard him - WOOSH!! He couldn't stand that popper any more! I could tell by the sound and the fight that I had a nice fish. He was somewhere between 2 to 3 pounds. Lot's of fun on a 5wt!!
