Got on my buddy Jeff's (Mountain Man) boat this morning, and headed out of Kowaliga to the powerline by Dixie Sailing Club where I fished successfully yesterday. The stripes were thick, and we limited out in an hour. We marked many "spaghetti screens", and could have caught as many more, but we have subscribed to the idea that "you catch your limit and quit". We both believe, after reading the research, that 90% of hooked stripes die within 48 hours of release. So, even though it was tempting to keep catching stripes beyond the limit, and release them, we decided to quit. Believe me, it's hard to do, because they're so much fun to catch. However, I encourage everybody to quit after you have a limit in the box. Our idea is to maintain the resource. Hopefully you'll agree.
Tight Lines! Wes
