I will blame Bush for abandoning fiscal responsibility and spending too much trying to build relations with the democrats. But I support him on the war on terror and keeping america safe and for pulling us out of the recession left by Clinton after the tech bubble burst and being attacked on 9/11. We had 6 good years of growth until the democrats took congress and would not cooperate to address the warning signs of a finacial crisis and rising oil prices.

We may disagree on who is responsible for the current recession, but at least it is a healthy debate and what makes america great that we can debate. But even if you want to pin it on Bush, now Obama and the democrats can show how their policies will work taking over a recession, just like Bush and the republicans had to do with what they took over from Clinton and then 9/11.

The reference back to Carter that many of us have made is to point out that the last time the democrats had that chance was under Carter and instead of things getting better the policies made things much worse. Including the reduction in our military strength and allowing countries like Iran embarrass us with holding americans hostage for a year and the Saudi oil embargo.

We all are waiting to see what Obama and the democrats do. I hope he is successful and I WILL give him credit. But I really really really have my doubts.
