MM may have more actual facts than I have, but when did discussions have to have facts?  We will be going down next weekend, as our snowbirds leave this Sunday.  They have been there since January 1.  The only new info I have comes from the banter back and forth from Gulf Shores forum, and Mobile Press Register articles.  The rental agencies and Chamber all say "Everything is great" while some remain skeptical.

I was VERY concerned about the big glob they discovered recently, but I understand that was something that came down the Mississippi.  Hopefully, it was not oil related and will not be a problem.  I have heard the dead dolphins speak volumes about the condition, and I have heard that the dolphin stores are way overblown.  Who knows?

I will closely investigate our little portion of the beach to see.  One thing that has always amazed me down there is the movement of the sand.  The landscape changes daily based on blown sand.  Do I think the beaches will look great? Absolutely.  Do I think the BP folks got all the little oil particles removed?  Absolutely not.  Do I still think the Louisiana and Mississippi marshes have some years for recovery?  Yes.  Will I enjoy some seafood on our next trip down? Absolutely.  Is our condo for rent this summer?  Better hurry, prime days are filling fast.
