Saw this in one of the front page articles. Good thing, but sad we have to legislate common sense.

For those out on Alabama’s lakes over the holiday weekend, there is a new regulation boaters need to be aware of, said Lt. Erica Shipman, education officer with the Alabama Marine Police.

“There is a regulation pertaining to trash receptacles,” Shipman said. “You now must have some sort of receptacle for trash on any vessel. That would include PWCs (personal water craft). It can be as little as a trash bag or a litter bag. But they have to have something that they can put any kind of trash, garbage or plastics into, keep it contained and then be able to dispose of it.”
