I agree that Bayliner is not the best boat on the market, but they do a great job with the hull especially with the transom. All boats that I have replaced the wood on the transom have approximately 3/16" thick fiberglass on the transom part of the hull, but a Bayliner has around 1/2" or more in the same area. The hull is usually pretty thick and strong.
The bad part of a Bayliner is the cabinetry. They build everything in with plywood and just spray it with a little mixed chop and gel coat. If you have one I suggest never let it get wet inside or left out in the rain without being covered and ventilated.
