As a kid I often joined my dad to listen to Dizzy Dean and Peewee Reese do the Saturday baseball radio broadcast. Once at a game in St Louis Peewee commented that it was 95 in the press box so it must be 110 on the field. Dizzy replied in his deep drawl..."Shoot Peewee, when I was playing in the Texas League it was sometime so hot we would build us a fire in the dugout and stand around it to keep cool!"

We don't make them like that anymore.
