My only regret is that enough of us did not create a watchdog group, or demand a few seats on the board. It seems to be a private entity, and while capitalism is the American way, you never want someone to take advantage of another.
I admire TH for putting it together, gaining that much lake resident support, maintaining momentum, collecting money, and making it happen---putting down over 50 miles of pipe to form the Parker Creek Water Company. The initial deposit was to cover paying the mortgage. Many argued "What happens after the mortgage is paid?" Well, there is maintenance, and TH's retirement. He put it together, I am happy to have good clean water, and fire hydrants near by.
Now the negatives:
1. Wish there was a public board of consumers as a watchdog, monitoring the money
2. There is water running alongside the 1600 acres to the East of my lot. Hope that does not lead to development
3. I still curse TH every time I hit the bumps in the roads where the pipe crews crossed the road, and did a terrible job at repair.
4. Wish I knew that TH was charging the $5000 per hook up that he threatened on us if we did not sign up on time with the $3000. Shouldn't the new hook ups cut my minimum a bit?
