Correct - I believe. If so what you need is Bacillus Thuringiensis. Commonly called BT. Milky Spore is similar but a different bacteria I think. Your county agent can clear this up. Anyway the bacteria will set up in the soil and make the grubs sick. And you will have less problems with the summer caterpillars eating up your stuff. And it's an organic control, harmless to you and your pets.

Of course it could just be squirrels finding a nice hiding place for their nuts but you would see them in the daytime.
