As with any lawsuit, there are two sides to every story and it is always about one thing, money.  Based on what the article said, and we should take anything written in the media with a grain of salt, it appears that there was a sweetheart deal done by the Board for the head of the Board.  I suspect that is going to cost them.  As for the claim the deal can't be undone, that is simply not true.  If the property is still owned by the buyer they can quit-claim deed the property back to the Association.  If they have sold the property, then they can write the Association a big check for the fair market value of the property.  This is not going to end well for them.
