Yes Rickiray, We on the Forum now collectively know more about this subject than we did last year. Rickiray is correct based upon what we have learned. A few quick points - There is an age limit where you can be grandfathered and do not have to take the test. I agree with Surfer that it is probably wise to take the on-line course anyway. If you decide to obtain the license make sure you have your social security card with you. Go to the DMV office first and not to the county building. It is a minor hassle and does cost a few bucks. The license is good for four years, and I think it is $5.00 to renew.

How they police the 45 day rule is still a curiosity to me. Maybe is is based on the honor system, and you not lying to the marine police???

Aside - I hope the officer (I think his handle was Gary) from the Marine Police participates on the Forum again this year. He was most helpful to all of us on matters of law and safety.
