In order for both sides to voice their concurrence with or opposition to the proposed boating restriction legislation to our state Senators and Representatives why not have a Town Hall Meeting on Lake Martin’s Live Chat.

We could invite Senator Dial and House Rep Graham to participate; the format of the Town Hall Meeting would be as follows:

- Determine level of forum member interest (if interested post a Ye to this message)
- Once sufficient level of interest is determine I will contact Dial and Graham and see if they will participate. Need equal interest from parties, which disagree with or concur with the proposed legislation.
- If they both agree to participate I will then post time and date to forum.
- Once date is set all interested parties email me their questions / concerns within 48 hours, once the Legislators agree to participate. All questions have to be relevant to the subject at hand; limit residence boats, 30.5 length and 500hp and be addressed specifically to either Dial or Graham.
- Limit of 2 qustions per particpiant
- I will email all questions to either Dial or Graham so they may have time to prepare their responses in advance.
- I will moderate unless someone else (neutral party) wants the job.

Format will be as follows:
- Each question will be presented. After the respective legislator has answered the question the individual who presented the question will then have 7 minutes to debate with the legislator, if they do not concur with their response. If they concur then the next question will be submitted to the forum, etc, etc, etc.
- If you were not the individual asking the question, then you will not be able to participate whether you concur or not. Otherwise we will never get through the 24 or so questions.

So at an average of say 5 minutes per question we could probably cover about 24 questions in 2 hours as long as everyone follows the rules.

Just thought this might be interesting format and great use of lakemartin.com Live Chat.

Guess, if there is a lot of interest I would have to call Bruce to see how many people could be logged into Live Chat at once and what is the maximum length of text which can entered per post.

Post your reply and we will go from there.

PS - I will be out of town all of next week, so it would have to be after March 26th. Is this after the voting date for the proposed legislation? If so, somebody else will have to moderate.
